ProEquus® WE40™ Multi-Use Arena Base System
Material Specifications and Technical Data Sheet

Product description: Flexible mats (120cm W x 83cm L x 4cm H) largely consisting of Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC).  PVC is virtually trouble-free (in comparison to other materials) during temperature changes, since it expands equally in all directions, and contracts into the same shape and size (e.g. no “memory” as with many plastics).
The elements are relatively pliable and flexible, UV-stabilized and freeze-tolerant, durable with a long lifespan, do not decay or deteriorate, and are non-polluting.
Resistant to acids and leaching compounds (including marine or road salts, ammonia, acid rain etc.) as well as against alcohol or similar solvents, and ammonia from urea. 100% recyclable! (per Environmental Certificate).
ProEquus® WE40™ has been proven to contain no PCB, nor any other pollutants for animals or groundwater, etc.

Uses: Footing & flooring stabilization in horse facilities (e.g. in riding and tournament places) and/or general animal husbandry, pasture entrances, paths and walkway to paddocks, etc.). The tongue-and-groove system makes the mats easy to assemble and disassemble.
Due to the straight edges, the mats nest against each other snugly.Installation: ProEquus® WE40™ may be trimmed to fit using portable hand tools (saws) or power hand tools (circular saws, etc. It is not necessary to pre-cut the pieces, they may be trimmed-to-fit easily during installation, thus saving time and energy.

Primary applications: ProEquus® WE40™ Perforated Event Mats are commonly used for Western Equitation riding surfaces, including indoors or outdoor riding arenas (often for temporary or portable surfaces), practice areas, etc.
Either of the OT40™ of WE40™ perforated mat systems may be used for permanent or temporary/portable/revokable riding arenas: installed directly on top of concrete or asphalt floors, crushed stone/gravel, non-engineered surfaces, wood (indoor riding venue) floors, convention centers or gymnasiums etc.

Top-side overview of the ProEquus® WE40 [Western Equitation] perforated riding arena mat system designed specifically for western-style riding, such as Roping and Reining, Cutting and Barrels etc. Original filename ProEquus-WE40_3.JPG. This overhaed view of the WE40 perforated mat elements shows the rainfall drainage perforations and the minimal horizontal traction [i.e. shear-resistance] elements which are more appropriate for western riding styles. Original filename ProEquus-WE40_4.JPG. This view of the underside of the WE40 western-riding mat system shows the drainage channels which divert rainfall runoff horizontally to external stormwater runoff removal systems. Whether the mats are installed on pervious or impervious surfaces, the rainfall never puddles or pools in the arena itself.
